Prominent among the many monuments to freedom and the Danish Constitution that surround Himmelbjerg, one of Denmark’s highest points, is the Women’s Stone. It is an upright stone that features a carved relief of a woman. It was created by the sculptor Ølsgaard in 1921. It commemorates the introduction of voting rights for women, which was by amendment to the constitution in 1915. It serves as a complement to the Women’s Oak, planted in that year.
