The Urania Observatory is open to the public in the evenings during the winter months. It is the largest public observatory in Denmark – one huge refractive telescope that gives extraordinary views of the heavens. It is manned by volunteer enthusiasts and tourists are made welcome, although large groups should inform the observatory in advance and are limited to twenty. Located a short distance from the city centre, the telescope/observatory is accessible by bus.
