Tvis Church lies to the south east of Holstebro. It was built during the last great era of church building in Denmark, during the religious revival in the late nineteenth century. It was built in traditional form of red brick and consecrated in 1887. There had previously been a great monastery in the area, but this was razed to the ground following the Reformation. The interior of the church contains motifs referring to the monastery and some of the furniture originates from the old abbey church.
