Map
Copenhagen Town Hall houses the City’s administration. It is an imposing building near the Central Station that is over 100m high. It was designed by architect Martin Nyrup and completed in 1905. Over the main entrance is an image of Bishop Absalon, the medieval founder of the city. The Astronomical Clock over the entrance was designed by Jens Olsen in 1955 and is world-famous. Tours of the Town Hall are available in English. Ascending the tower for excellent views over the whole city is a popular tourist activity.
