The Theatre Museum is housed in the court theatre of the Christianborg palace itself. It dates from the eighteenth century and survived the fire that gutted the original palace. The theatre is the oldest wooden theatre surviving in Europe. The exhibitions are bursting with history, there are playbills and programmes and theatre memorabilia from throughout the theatre’s existence. One of Copenhagen’s best museums and often far from crowded since it is not the best known.
