Around the edge of the old city of Copenhagen where there once stood fortifications, there are now a series of parks, of which Østre Anlæg is one. It contains Statens Museum for Kunst and the Hirschprung Collection gallery building. There are plenty of trees. The park is criss-crossed with a network of footpaths, and has water features and attractive flowerbeds. It is a popular spot for joggers and dog-walkers. It is well-provided with benches for those looking for somewhere to enjoy a snack or read a book in the sunshine.
