Statens Museum for Kunst, as it is usually known, is the Danish national gallery. It has been extensively rebuilt in recent times and includes such innovations as a special children’s museum. The museum houses exhibits from between the 13th century and the modern day. It has a good collection of old masters and one of the best collections of Danish painting, especially from the “Golden Age”. There is an extensive research library that visitors may use. The museum has very good visitor facilities including a café and shop.
