The statue of St. Catherine of Alexandria stands in the former churchyard of St. Catherine’s Church, Ribe. This is now known as St. Catherine’s Place. The sculpture was created by Anders Bundgård. It was unveiled in the nineteen thirties. St. Catherine is depicted mounted on a pedestal, holding the wheel ("the Catherine Wheel") that failed to effect her execution. The statue stands above a fountain and pool, and is a key local landmark.
