Solrød Church lies in a little village just to the east of the well to do suburb of Solrød Strand. The old parish church dates back to medieval times and was founded around 1200. Its inventory contains some fine Renaissance work. The altarpiece is from 1630 and bears the monogram of King Christian IV. The pulpit is from around 1590 and bears the symbold of the four Gospel writers, Mathhew, Mark, Luke and John. The font is carved from granite and is as old as the church itself.
