Sønderho Church

Sønderho Church is situated in the village of the same name, which is in the south of the popular island of Fanø. The church is fairly “low” by Danish Lutheran standards, and is built in a simple hall style, with no dramatic towers or spires. Nonetheless it contains some interesting features. One of these are what are known as “votive ships” (these are also present in Nordby church) which provide a constant reminder of sailors far away. This church has fourteen of them. It seats around 700 people.
