The lovely park of Slyttehushaven lies on the north side of Vejle fjord, stretching up to the Northern Forest, a few kilometres outside Vejle. The park is built around an octagonal pavilion named Slyttehus that dates from 1868. In the 1880s the pavilion was extended to incorporate concerts and dancing. The Slyttehus park has been owned by the Vejle municipality since 1914. There are several children’s play areas in the park. During the day the Slyttehus pavilion itself houses a restaurant.
