Skærlund Church lies in the open countryside a few miles to the south west of Brande. It was built in the late nineteenth century during the last great religious revival in Denmark. Consecrated in 1896, it was designed by the architect Boss. It is constructed of red brick with a multi-faceted low tower. The interior is whitewashed. The communion rails form a semi-circle around the altar. Above this hangs a crucifix made by Erik Heide. The stained glass windows behind depict Easter and Pentecost.
