Skarø is a small island accessible by boat from Svendborg and is a popular spot for walkers, hikers and cyclists. It is inhabited but nonetheless peaceful, wooded, unspoilt and rich in birdlife. There is a beach on the island, and a campsite. Hiking trails are well-marked and trodden. It is possible to explore the island in a few hours. The island is popular with fishermen. There are kiosk and toilet facilities on the island.
