The Sherperdess and the Chimney Sweep is found on the corner of Vestergade and Kongensgade, in the centre of the city of Odense. It is a sculpture inspired by one of Hans Christian Andersen’s best-known stories. It is made of granite and bronze and stands more than five metres high. It was unveiled in 1995. The sculptor was Bengt Pontus Kjerrman. It is one of series of sculptures around the city based on the fairy tales; Andersen was born in Odense and is the city’s most famous son.
