Serritslev Church lies in a countryside village to the north of the Vendsyssel town of Brønderslev. The church dates from the early thirteenth century and is in the Romanesque style which is the equivalent of the English Norman style. The main body of the church is built of granite. The porch is plainly a later addition. The church has no tower, and the bell hangs seperately in a bellframe. This is sited on a pagan burial mound, a classic illustration of the triumph of Christianity over the old superstitions.
