Sct. Nicolai’s Church is Kolding’s oldest, although only parts of the interior date from as far back as 1250 – the exterior is neo-Gothic nineteenth century. The altarpiece dates from the sixteenth century and is highly colourful; some very bright stained-glass windows flank it. The pulpit is also sixteenth-century. While the organ is modern it is extremely impressive. The church is a frequent venue for classical concerts.
