Sct. Matthæus Church

Sct. Matthæus Church is situated on the western edge of Copenhagen City Centre, just off Vesterbrogade. It was built in the late nineteenth century in Italian Romanesque style; its design features an imposing tower and spire. Ludwig Fender designed it. The interior features an enormous altarpiece, painted in oils, that is 9 metres by 11 metres. The attractive nineteenth-century font is carved of white marble.
