Saint Nicolaj Roman Catholic Church is found in the centre of the modern city of Esbjerg. It was designed by architect Johan Otto von Spreckelsen. Jacob Werner Korsmeier designed the crucifix which hangs above the body. The figure of Christ mounted on it is in bronze and shows him with a crown, victorious. There is an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in ceramic by Marianne Roennov. The tabernacle was designed by Nis Schmidt. Masses are said in Danish, Polish and Vietnamese.
