Sanct Johannes Kirke is found near the centre of Herning. This large modern church was designed by Søren Jensen, who took over the work from Aalborg architect Packnes on his death. it was consecrated in 1955. Its tower is well-known as a landmark and serves the additional function of being the water tower for the whole town. The organ is placed, in traditional style, high above the altar. The church serves a congregation of the established Lutheran church.
