Sanct Hans Church lies in the centre of Odense, next to Odense Slot and Kongens Have Gardens. It was founded in the thirteenth century and dedicated to St. Michael. It was renamed Sanct Hans Church in 1329 and served as an Abbey Church for 200 years until the Reformation. Its particularly attractive features include a fine pulpit and a series of old tombstones dating back hundreds of years. It is used as a venue for concerts by the Odense Symphony Orchestra.
