The Royal Danish Theatre is difficult to miss, a magnificent and imposing building which dominates one side of Kongens Nytorv. Home to classical concerts, ballet and theatre, it is the sister building to the new opera house by the harbour. The interior is ornate and the theatre has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, despite its imposing appearance from outside. The highly-decorated corridors feature statues of figures from the arts in Denmark. From the box office next door you can buy tickets for guided tours as well as for a huge range of performances.
