The Royal Danish Naval Museum is the official museum of the Danish fleet. It prides itself on its extensive collection of model ships, over 400 of which are on display. In addition to the models, instruments, artefacts and ornamentation from ships are extensively displayed and some of these items date back to the seventeenth century. The museum is particularly keen to promote itself as an attraction for families and children and has a "children’s ship" where youngster’s can fire a cannon, and a high mast that they can attempt to climb.
