The Royal Danish Arsenal museum is housed in the arsenal constructed by Christian IV, a vaulted hall more than 100 metres long, which contains the heavy artillery. Above this hall is the armoury, which is of particular interest. It houses a quite extraordinary collection of weapons and armour, some of quite extraordinary beauty, and most extraordinarily well-preserved. There are more than 5000 pieces in the collection, which is meticulously organised and displayed. The museum lays on special activities and displays for children.
