Power, Wisdom and Justice

The three figures representing power, justice and wisdom stand on top of the Old Town Hall in the centre of the medieval city of Odense. The town hall was constructed in the late nineteenth century, and these figures were placed here on its completion in 1883. They were made by renowned sculptor Aksel Hansen, who also created the statue "Echo" in the Hans Christian Andersen Garden. They needed restoration in the 1980s after Justice dropped her sceptre.
