Piet Hein’s Solur is an eleven metre high sculpture that was presented to the Aabenraa community in 1998 in connection with an exhibition on Piet Hein that was held here. Piet Hein was a famous Danish mathematician, scientist, inventor, poet and philosopher famous for his integration of mathematical ideas into solving the problems of everyday life. Based on an original design of Hein’s, the sculpture is topped with an elipse and helix in polished metal.
