Situated in the old paper mill, the Paper Museum explores the fascinating history of paper making from earliest times. Silkeborg’s industrialisation, prosperity and growth is owing to the establishment of the paper industry here. It is one of the few places in the world that produced paper of sufficient quality to be used in banknotes, and many of these are on display. Of particular appeal to children will be the working machines and opportunity to create one’s own product as part of the museum experience.
