Odense City Hall is one of the more impressive municipal edifices in Denmark. It was constructed in the late nineteenth century and conceived by architects J.D. Herholdt and C. Lendorf. Its design is Italian-influenced. It was extended substantially 50 years ago to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Hans Christian Andersen’s birth.
