The National Museum takes visitors on a tour through the cultural history of Denmark. It is housed in a former Royal Palace, located not far from the Central Station. There are guided tours in English. If these are not convenient the museum also provides free audio guides that take you around the collection in around an hour. The museum houses the royal coin collection as well as an extensive collection of antiquities. It has a cinema, restaurant and café. It is typical of Danish attractions in being child-friendly and has a dedicated children’s museum.
