Lodbjerg Lighthouse is found on the coast of Thy, a few kilometres south east of Thisted. The lighthouse is surrounded by trees and is built of attractive red granite. It is thirty five metres high and dates from 1883. From the top it affords spectacular views over the nearby sea, cliffs and countryside. It is open to visitors during the summer tourist season. The lighthouse is also an excellent place to use as a base for exploring the wild, unspoilt rural area where you will find dramatic clifftop views and several Bronze Age burial mounds.
