Laugø Smithy lies to the north of Helsinge, in a little village. It is located near to the Helsinge Carriage Museum. The blacksmith’s shop here operated as a family concern until 1980, when the last owner died and the smithy was purchased by the municipality. Inside the forge you can see a range of traditional equipment. Skilled blacksmiths give demonstrations of horseshoe manufacture. The smithy is particularly keen to welcome children and can make special arrangements for groups.
