Koldinghus Museum is housed in the renovated ruins of a former royal castle, which originally dates from the 13th century. It houses special exhibitions, especially in the arts, of a high standard. The museum contains preserved and restored remnants of the old castle which are key to its permanent exhibitions. It contains a significant collection of fine art, including paintings from the “Golden Age”, a good collection of craftwork, and a decent gold and silver collection. It has a cafeteria and shop.
