While not quite as ostentatious as his half-brother Jens Bang’s contribution to the architecture of historic Aalborg, Jørgen Olufsen’s “yard” is also well worth the visitor’s attention. The large, beautifully preserved, painted and half-timbered building was the grocer’s whole estate. As well as providing his living quarters his business would have been done here and the ground floor contains crooked warehouses. You can see an old iron hook nearby where grain would have been weighed prior to storage.
