A memorial bust to the great Danish writer Johannes V Jensen stands in Mølleparken, a landscaped garden area in Aarhus. The sculpture was created in 1956 by Niels Hansen Jacobsen. Johannes V Jensen was heavily influenced by Darwinistic ideas, like other Danish writers of his generation. His novel “The Fall of the King” is widely regarded as the greatest work in the language of the twentieth century. Jensen was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1944.
