Jerusalem Church, situated in central Copenhagen near the historic district of Nyboder, is the city’s most striking free church. It was built in 1865; the architects were Ferdinand Jensen and J .C. Kofoed. It has a 50 metre high spire that is noticeable amid Copenhagen’s low-rise skyscape. The eight-sided tower is unusual and attractive. The church has a particularly fine organ. This is used for a series of concerts held annually during the summer months.
