The commemorative bust of Jeppe Aakjær is found in Mølleparken, the landscaped gardens that stand in central Aarhus. The sculpture was created by Niels Hansen Jacobsen. Jeppe Aakjær was a socialist-realist writer and poet, and had influence on the world-famous Danish composer Carl Nielsen, who set some of his pieces to music. His vivid portrayal of the sufferings of the working poor had political and social consequences for the once poverty-stricken and class-ridden Kingdom.
