The most attractive option is undoubtedly on board the oldest paddle steamer in the world still operating with an original steam engine, Hjejlen. The vessel sails a route between Silkeborg and Himmelbjerget; the trip takes an hour and a quarter. Apart from the spectacular trip, the ultimate destination is an attraction, since Himmelbjerget is Denmark’s highest point and, from the top, affords spectacular views.
