Hindsgavl Slotspark lies just to the west of Middelfart, by the short stretch of water that divides Fyn from Jylland. It is an outstanding stately home garden that is officially protected. It covers an area of forty thousand square metres. The garden was originally laid out in Baroque style in the mid-eighteenth century and it is still possible to see evidence of this today. It was modified in the nineteenth century to its current Romantic appearance. Hans Christian Andersen was a frequent visitor.
