Herning Church is situated in the centre of town. It is a late nineteenth century construction, the first major project of young Viborg architect C.A. Winholt. It is built in red brick in a Romanesque style. The church has an unusual altarpiece which is made of ceramic. A 33-stop instrument replaced its original 19th century organ in the 1940s. The church serves as a regular venue for classical concerts as well as the focus of Lutheran worship in Herning.
