The Hans Christian Andersen Garden (also known as Eventyrhaven or Fairy Tale Garden) stands in the centre of Odense, on an island in the middle of the river. It had originally been established as a private garden in the nineteenth century before being handed to the town authorities in the nineteen forties. At its heart was placed the Hasselriis sculpture of Andersen. A herb garden has been established using plants from the garden of St. Knud’s Church. It is beautifully designed and maintained to the highest standards.
