Gurreby Church lies in the Lolland countryside a few miles to the east of Nakskov, in an open area. The church dates from medieval times. It is Romanesque in style. The Romanesque period is the equivalent of the Norman in English church architecture. The building has no tower, only a ridge turret added in the Gothic period. A porch was also added at this time. Some of the pews inside the church were made before the Reformation, in about 1500. The pulpit dates from the early part of the seventeenth century.
