Gugs Kirke is a highly unusual structure, a product of seventies Danish design and lies in the southeastern suburbs of Aalborg. It was designed by Ingar and Johannes Exner and built between 1971 and 1972. It is a real curiosity in Danish church architecture being almost entirely made of concrete, in order to blend in with the surroundings. Its extraordinary interior attracts tourists; as a very modern and controversial attempt to blend Christianity with the modern world. It is also a familiar landmark viewable from the Aalborg tower.
