Greve Church lies a couple of kilometres inland from the Køge Bay cost, a short drive to the north of Køge. The church dates from the medieval period. The oldest parts of the church are thought to have been built in the eleventh century. There has been a church on this site for even longer. There is evidence of a wooden structure predating this one. The church is built of limestone sourced locally. It stands on a high point and is whitewashed. It serves an active Lutheran parish.
