The Frederiksberg Gardens, situated by the Zoo, are one of the largest and most idyllic spaces in a Northern European city. They are designed in an English country house style. A haven for sun-seekers and nature-lovers during the sunny months, the vast gardens feature green spaces, water features, and carefully planned wooded areas. There are cafes in summer (although there is no problem at all with bringing your own picnic). Rowing through the artificial lake is a popular activity. There are several unusual features such as a Chinese gazebo and a Norwegian mountain hut.
