Fredens Church lies to the north of the historic city centre. It was designed by famous Copenhagen architect P. V. Jensen Klint and consecrated in 1920. The church’s architecture seeks to incorporate aspects of modernism with a basis in the traditional medieval styles of most of Danish churches. Its bright interior contains a fine altarpiece by Axel Poulsen that represents Christ surrounded by kneeling and weary-looking figures.
