Egense Church

Egense Church lies in a village to the east of Svendborg. Its main body is built in Romanesque style; it has Gothic extensions, including a tower to the west. The altar painting is from the nineteenth century and depicts Christ with the centurion - it is placed in a Renaissance altarpiece from the seventeenth century. The pulpit is Renaissance and dates from around 1600. It has a granite font that probably dates from around the time of the foundation of the church.
