Ebeltoft Museum is housed in the Old Town Hall that was built in 1789 and became a museum in 1909. It houses exhibitions dealing with the history of the town and locality and has retained some of the features of the original civic building. Visiting the original courtroom, you can see the municipal charter dating back to the fourteenth century and in the basement you can still see evidence of municipal dungeons. The museum has a shop.
