Drejø church is situated on the tiny and peaceful island of Drejø, a popular spot for visitors wishing to get it away from it all. The island is accessible by regular ferry service from Svendborg. In the heart of the little village which forms the island’s capital lies Drejø church, a petite medieval building with a bright interior built just before the Reformation, and consecrated in 1535; it boasts being the only pre-Reformation church in Denmark never to have had a Catholic priest.
