The David Collection, or Davids Samling as it is usually known, is found near Statens Museum for Kunst. It is the largest collection of Islamic art in Scandinavia. It also contains a wide range of European applied art and design. It is housed in an early eighteenth century house, built in neo-Classical Style, which has several times been substantially redesigned to accommodate the works. The house was originally the property of Danish barrister C. L. David, who founded the institution.
