The Danish Technical Museum is situated in the town of Helsingør (or Elsinore) most famous as the location of “Hamlet’s castle”. The exhibition covers 8000 square metres of a former iron foundry. The museum charts the history of industry and scientific technology, with a particular emphasis on Denmark and Danish achievement. The museum has an extensive collection of engines, vehicles, cars and small aeroplanes. There is a feature on the physicist H.C. Ørsted’s discovery of electromagnetism. There is a café on site.
