The fascinating story of the brave Danish resistance to German occupation is little known outside the country. A visit to this museum is a must for all who are interested in the Second World War. Here you can learn about the underground networks that sabotaged the German occupation, and the increasingly brutal response of the Nazi occupiers to the troublesome Danes. Most extraordinary of all is the story of Denmark’s rescue of almost its entire Jewish population - about 7000 people - via a flotilla of little boats who took them in the dead of night to neutral Sweden. In summer there is an outdoor cafe.
